Mix of Old and New
You go into buildings like Parker or the Chemistry Building and wonder why they haven't been knocked down yet. You go into buildings like Ross Hall or the Science Center Classrooms and marvel at their nice facilities and modernity. It's a huge mix of buildings, but Auburn never seems to cease construction, so chances are if there's a building that's in disrepair, they're about to build a new one.

Upper-Middle-Income Straight Wasps Everywhere!
As far as race goes, the campus is predominately white. There aren't so few minorities that it's a surprise to see someone who's not white, but I'd say the mix is probably 70% or more white.
Most of the students who go here are Christians. There are a few other religions represented. There are tons of organizations for Christians (both general and for each sect; LDS, Catholics, Baptists, etc.) and a few for other religions (I know of at least one Baha'i and one Jewish organization on campus). Beware if you're an atheist, though - people might try incredibly hard to convert you.
If you fall under the LGBT spectrum, there is a very supportive Gay-Straight Alliance with a surprising number of people in it.
All in all, the campus isn't very diverse, but don't worry about fitting in here. It's big enough that there's someone else like you out here, and you can always find support through the Office of Diversity & Multicultural Affairs.
Most of all, don't be afraid of Southern stereotypes; many of those do not apply on campus.
