My experience with Miami-Dade has been full of ups and downs. I'm officially a student of their partner school "New World School of the Arts" as a Voice Major, but am required to do my academic coursework at Miami-Dade. While I love the staff members and the music program here, I've had a LOT of issues with the administrative side of things, including stuff like them initially marking me as a "non-degree seeking major," them not being able to evaluate me for financial aid because of being marked "non-degree seeking major" (which they could not tell me over the phone when I called to see what the issue was), being listed as an "out of state" resident even though I've lived in Florida for the past 16 years, and having financial aid mysteriously vanish from my account when I went to try to apply it to my credits. I also had an issue where I filled out a roommate finder form (since the school has no dormitories and students are required to find apartments off campus) that was supposed to be processed through the school, but I never received a reply and was thus unable to attend classes for a semestre because I couldn't get housing in Miami. There have been certain campus buildings I've gone to where I found roaches on campus, and frankly, I wasn't very thrilled with it. While Miami-Dade has wonderful teachers and academics, they are a bit lacking in things like administrative organization and campus cleanliness.
