Computers at Villanova University

A

Computers Are Extremely Accessible

The school provides every student with a laptop the summer before entering freshman year, and students keep that laptop until junior year. Before junior year students return their laptops and get a new laptop. Other than laptops, computers can be found in the library and computer lab, and there are a number of different printing centers on campus. Each student is given a printing balance of $60.00 each year, which is more than enough for your printing needs. A personal printer is a lot more convenient, but definitely not necessary. The library can be crowded, especially during exams, but the computer lab is always very empty.

Facilities at Villanova University

A

Good Variety of Facilities

There is a great variety of athletic centers, study areas, and places to get food. There are 3 different gyms, one on each campus. (South, main, and west campus) While the gym on main campus is the best, all three have modern equipment and a lot to offer. There are 2 pools, a number of basketball courts (indoor and outdoor),volleyball courts (indoor and outdoor), and tennis courts open to all students. There are so many intermural sports offered. The library can get very crowded, particularly during exams, however there are so many other areas to study. You can study in any open classroom, study rooms, student centers, dorm lounges, and dining halls. There are various eateries on campus to fit any taste. Coffee shops, grilled food shops, sandwich stations, salad bars, italian kitchen, ice cream/smoothie shop, convience stores, and 3 dining halls. One of the most popular meeting places for students is Connelly Center, where students can study, get food, get involved in activities, go to lectures, shoot pool, or grab coffee.

Drug Safety at Villanova University

B+

Use of Alcohol Is Very Visible

Drinking is a popular activity on campus and what most students do on the weekends. If you are not into drinking, not EVERYONE on campus drinks and there are various activities offered by Villanova, such as movies, comedy shows, etc. Students may feel pressured to go out and drink due to the popularity of this activity. It is definitely easy to get and hide alcohol on campus. The drug scene isn't as big, and if you are a huge drug user you will probably get caught. Many students smoke, but it's not a everyday thing.

Campus Housing at Villanova University

B+

Junior Apartments Are the Best

There are a lot of different buildings for freshmen dorms, and each building has different dorm rooms. Most of them are pretty standard, but Good Counsel has sinks in the rooms which is nice. Sophomores typically have the worst rooms, but the best location. They live in the quad which has small rooms, but is really fun because mostly everyone lives there and it is located at the heart of main campus. Junior apartments are the best and most spacious, however the RA's can get REALLY annoying by junior year.

Off-Campus Housing at Villanova University

B+

Off-Campus Housing Can Be Expensive

Since Villanova University is located on the main line, one of the most affluent areas of Pennsylvania, off-campus housing can be expensive. There's a lot of housing that is close to campus however.

Overall Experience at Villanova University

A-

Life Is Good at Villanova

Most students are very happy here, there are a lot of neighboring schools, great professors, nice students, and a good social life. Basketball season is definitely one of the best aspects of Villanova and almost everyone gets involved. NOVA NATION! The parties are a lot of fun if you have good connections (which are easy to get) but hard to get to. If you want diversity, do not come here, there is minimal diversity.
