Jekyll and Hyde

THe atmosphere around Old DOminion University is like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. During the day , and most of the nights it is a peaceful and over all positive campus to be on. However, at night, there can be off the wall scary experiences, such as shootings and robberies on and off campus. There also seems to be a sharp difference between the two halves of off campus housing. While one half of the campus is fairly new (some areas are even still being developed) and safe, other parts of the campus have been neglected in a very visible way. The overall atmosphere is confusing. You don't know whether to feel safe with the abundance of safety measures, including police security and crime alert emails/text messages or scared , because of the failure of these measures to prevent crime in the first place.
