Mizzou IT

The technology on campus is pretty reliable. Many computer labs and printing labs, many IT workers ready to help you if needed. Wireless is fairly fast, but if you are in some of the dorms the internet tends to fail a lot. The IT system also give many opportunities for learning new IT skills, overall experience is alright.

On Campu

I believe if you are a first year you have to live on campus. The experience is great, you create your niche of friends that first year while on campus. I enjoyed having everything so close and having a great social atmosphere. Lately a majority of the old dorms have been being renovated, so the costs of living may be a little expensive but reasonable. Make sure to apply for on campus living early because those dorms fill up very fast.

Athletics

Mizzou Athletics has a rich history of fan support and school spirit. One is proud to be a Mizzou Tiger and will attend all of the football games and possibly a majority of the basketball games. The facilities are brand new and continually being renovated. IM sports and club sports are also very good, it creates opportunities for everyone to participate and have a great time while playing the sport they love.

Academics

I came to Mizzou for my major, it's Business program is phenomenal. With reputable majors such as Accounting; program 20th in the country, and journalism; program 1st in the country, students have a variety of majors and emphasis they could mix and match. So far my experience has been pretty good, I did not like the general education classes too much though; they are a lot of busy work. Once I got up into the upper level classes became more fun to attend to because they related with your major. Most professors are nice and try to make the class very fun, and their workload is reasonable.

Nightlife

Nightlife at Mizzou is really nice, there are several 18 and older clubs and many bars. I would have to say that my favorite are the house parties that are off campus. Frat parties are not very accepting thought. Frats don't like to invite guys into their parties, just girls. If they allow guys they will as for at least a 5:1 girl to guy ratio, your own alcohol, and 10 dollars. This is the most extreme situation, but if you know people in the frat then your chances of getting in are higher. Now going back to off campus parties, the only difficult situation is getting to the party, but getting back is very easy. "Stripes" our on campus organization gives people a free sober driver to wherever in Columbia they would like to go to. The wait is normally long but very nice to get a ride home.

Weather

Missouri weather is very, very inconsistent. From hot and humid days to below zero temperatures this campus has seen all four seasons in one day before.
