Small Town College Location
Northern Illinois University is located in a small town called DeKalb, there are many things to do off campus if you have a car. If not that's ok too, because there are many bars on campus for those who are of age to drink and there are many shops and food places around campus and in downtown DeKalb for those who aren't of age to drink to walk or drive to in order to hang out by themselves or with friends. The campus also hosts many sports events, football games are loud and boisterous, and concerts at the convocation center at NIU are amazingly wonderful and attract a large crowd of people not only from campus and from the town of DeKalb but from everywhere.

Food
theres food places inside the dorm buildings where meal plans are used, theres one building called dusable hall that has the dugout for getting food during breaks between classes. the holmes student center has a huge cafeteria with many options as well. and last but not least there's many places on campus and off campus to go eat at. for on campus my two most favorite places were panda express and thai pavillion.

Nightlife
there are many bars around campus and the frats and sorority houses sometimes have parties which is great nightlife entertainment for those of age, another great place for entertainment for those who arent of age is the NIU convocation center and the NIU stadium for sports events and concerts.
