Alfred is to many a home and a family. It is a small campus which means you get to know everyone if not by name at least by face. For the most part they are extremely friendly. The faculty will know you by name even if its been two years since you had a class with them, or even if you've never been in one of their classes. The clubs are great opportunities for leadership experience, and almost everyone is involved in either a club or a sport or both. The sports are important, and softball, football, swimming, skiing and equestrian do pretty well. Though it is a D3 school so we don't overemphasize the sports. The housing can be anything from really nice (Ann's House, Joel's House, some freshmen dorms) to no so nice (the suites). Its all about what you make of it. Some landlords aren't too great off campus, but there are some okay places as well.
