As Safe as It Gets

The honor system assures complete campus safety. Thefts and petty crime rarely occur on campus and even in town. People always leave their doors unlocked - and even open - and their valuables lying around without fear. You can walk around at any time and will not have to call for an escort or friend to go with you.

Drugs and Alcohol

Hard drugs are present at W&L though more secluded than out in the open. Alcohol is simply a fact of life down here. It will be at every party you attend and in all of the fraternity houses. The only place where alcohol is present is the freshman dorms; RAs will crack down hard on it.

The Optimal College Experience

Perhaps W&L has the best blend of academics and fun in the United States. Professors will challenge you and expect you to work much harder than your peers that attend state schools. However, they are there to help you at any step of the learning process. Aside from academics, you can take part in the amazing greek system or the hundreds of outdoor adventure activities occuring every semester. W&L is definitely not for everyone. If you enjoy hiding or being anti-social and not taking advantage of your surroundings, then this place might not be for you. However, if you are outgoing, willing to talk to everyone and want to live in one America's most beautiful campus and setting for four years, then take W&L for the ride of your life.
