Best Option: Get a Ride from a Friend

There are a couple grocery stores within easy walking/biking distance and a Target and Walmart slightly farther away, but still manageable. So having a means of transportation is not totally necessary, but convenient if students want to venture farther away from campus. There is a local bus stop within a block or two of campus that is convenient. There is also a train within reasonable walking distance that will take students down to the Las Angeles area where there is plenty to do. Of course, there are also taxis, but those are expensive. Many students bring cars, and the most popular option is to get rides from one such student, as Mudders are by nature friendly and willing to help each other out. Compensating a friend for gas is much less expensive than calling a taxi.
