I Still Live at Home.
I live at home but the majority of people that go to the U live off campus but super close to school. I know a lot of people who walk and it's not hard to find roommates or housing. There are a lot of students in the area surrounding the U but you still have the freedom of not being on campus.

They Aren't the Main Focus of the School
They're pretty active in recruiting people the first couple weeks of school and you always see them around campus, but they don't own the school, which is nice. The only time I really interact with them are at footballs games or if I have classes with friends in a sorority or frat.

Not a Super Social School.
I transferred from Utah State where all the students live on or close to campus and everyone has roommates and people love to socialize up there. The second I got to the U I noticed people are way more focused on school and studying. There isn't a lot of socializing outside of class for me and I have noticed it's harder to meet people when you don't live on campus or in apartments close to campus. I have spent a lot more time studying and focusing on school though, and I have been getting better grades so I don't really care.
