Drugs and alcohol are around but easily avoidable if you stay away from that scene. If you're into Greek Life expect pressure to drink heavily.

The Poetry Center
The Poetry Center is unique - it's the largest collection exclusively of poetry in a single (beautiful) building in the center. It regularly hosts awesome readings, talks, and workshops for people interested in all types of creative writing and literature.
