What College Town?
Williamsburg is a very cute colonial town. But, it caters to the tourist over the college students. The three delis (aka bars) to check out are the Leafe, Paul's, and the College Deli (in that order)... You'll notice that different groups tend to frequent a particular bar. Only a small percentage of the student population frequents the bars, so you'll see a lot of familiar faces.
William and Mary students are over-achievers, so many are super involved. This is awesome, but also means there isn't a lot of school spirit around athletic events. Everyone is too busy with their own club/ sport/ community service/ studying to take time out to be a spectator.
Blowout is a must-do. The last day of classes, people just go crazy. Class turns into a party, and many teachers cancel class ahead of time to avoid dealing with drunk students. It is definitely my favorite day of the year.

Greek Life
Greek life doesn't dominate at W&M. If you're on a varsity team, there's no reason to join. But, if you're not and you're a guy under 21, I would join a frat. You have minimal partying options if you don't.
As a girl, I don't think it's as important to join a sorority. It's pretty easy to get into frat parties (and, if you know about them, house parties). I would only join for the "sisterhood." If you want to rush, you should go for it freshman year. It can be a lot harder to get into a sorority if you wait till sophomore year.

Parking Is Awful!
It seems like the campus police spend their days looking for reasons to give out tickets. Really, be careful. Also, it can be very difficult to find a parking spot. I tried to avoid moving my car because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find another spot.
