Facilities at University of Rhode Island

A+

URI Has It All

The University of Rhode Island is really top notch. The entire campus is truly beautiful and captures the spirit of a fun loving New England community. A student can become overwhelmed by the charming campus aesthetics similar to that of an ivy league school. The library is a student's blissful escape and fit for every type of student. Not only are there vending machines and a kiosk that serves coffee and bagels in the library, but there are different areas fit for all different types of studiers and an ideal view overlooking the entire campus. The student union has everything a student could possibly need- a food court, coffee shops, a bookstore, a hair salon, etc. and the Ryan Center holds the most exciting concerts and basketball games that every student looks forward to.

Local Atmosphere at University of Rhode Island

A+

Beautiful Location

The University of Rhode Island is surrounded by an ideal atmosphere because it is only minutes away from the beautiful beaches that represent "the Ocean State." The community is very friendly and there is always something to do. The school is very close to historic and charming town of Newport, and only a half hour away from unique city life in Providence, so URI students get the best of both worlds.

Transportation at University of Rhode Island

A

Walking Shoes Are the Best for on Campus Activities

There are always a few buses taking students around campus at URI. The campus is also minutes away from the Kingston train station, so it is very convenient for long distance traveling. Everything a student needs at URI is within walking distance, so the use for transportation is completely optional. However, most parties take place off campus at houses that upperclassmen rent for the academic year, so having a car on campus would be very convenient for the party-goer, although parking is definitely a nightmare at URI.
