SAT Scoring Question

So this year, the common app allows you to supply only your best scores on specific sections. However, you still need to send all the scores from the dates that you report. So, heres my question: The first time I took the SAT I got an 800 writing, 730 reading, and 720 math. The second time I took it I got a 730 writing, 800 reading, and 680 math. Is it worth reporting my reading section on the second one, because I got an 800, even though I then would have to send in a date in which I got a 680 in math? I am trying to go to very competitive schools. I have a high GPA and have leadership roles in many extracurricular/community service activities, so this is what I'm most worried about at this point. I am not looking towards a future in a math-related field.

Yes, send in both scores. Colleges will only take the best scores from each section (ie: the two 800s and the 720) giving you a 2320 overall, which is more competitive than your two scores separated.

Berkeley typically takes the highest overall score from one sitting.

Yes, do report it. They consider your highest scores and basically ignore the lower if they request your best scores on specific sections.

You don't need the best scores as long as you have grades or extra curriculars to compensate.

Probably depends on the school, but don't a lot of them only consider the best for each section? So they'll see you as a 800 Writing, 800 Reading, 720 Maths student.

Check out each school's websites, it should tell you in there somewhere.

For Oberlin students that come from Virginia, how hard was it to adjust to the weather?

Oh, hey! Yeah, it was a bit of an adjustment for me, but it as totally worth it. You know how Virginian winters doen't really have much snow? Oberlin is nothing like that, and you will not be getting any snow days for less than 4 feet of snow in a day. However, you'll be able to walk everywhere anyway (buy good snow boots and a warm coat), and spring-fall are positively beautiful. But you're probably not looking at Oberlin for weather anyway, right?
