City of Atlanta
Georgia Tech is in the middle of midtown Atlanta. As a result, hundreds of restaurants are close by. These include everything from pubs to super trendy and expensive to cheap and healthy. Some do require a decent walk to get to though but nothing is unreasonably far away.

Good Bet
The freshman doors are pretty tight with two to a small room. Despite this the dorms have a great network RA's and older leaders to provide support and help when needed. The upperclassman doors are actually quite nice and everyone gets there own bedroom that locks and shares a huge kitchen, living room, and two full bathrooms with 3 roommates. The dorms are safe but also easy going. People do not get in trouble all the time for stuff but quite time is respected. Also, it is no problem to bring visitors over or have parties as long as they are not out of control. It should be a sign that over 40% of students live on campus which is way high compared to other big schools.

Work Hard, Play Hard
The academics are very hard at Tech, so many students party hard as a break from the studying. In between the greek scene and midtown Atlanta, there is always a good party to be found. There is a shuttle that will take you from the subway stops in the city to campus and around campus all night. The Tech police are well respected and liked by the student population. They do not go around and bust parties or underage drinking much, but if someone is asking for it, i.e. peeing on a cop car, they will bust you. They will even give you a ride home if you ask and are underage and drunk. As a result, under 21 students usually party a lot on campus, and older students go into the city more. Atlanta is known for having many awesome clubs to party the night away in.
