both the commons and collegetown (by cornell) have excellent choices for food. From small diners like hall's to well-known vegetarian restaurants like moosewoods, you can't go hungry off campus at ithaca!

Unlike Anywhere Else

The bars and clubs are usually for students 21+ but house parties are amazing. If you want a good time just go up to the circles or off campus (usually coddington or columbia sts.) for a party. If you're into frat parties just head over to Cornell.

Be Organized

In order to deal with the ridiculous price of IC, be organized when dealing with the financial aid office. That will help a lot.

10 Miles Surrounded by Reality

Ithaca is a 100% collegetown. When school is in session there are endless things for students to do: shopping, eating, theatre, music etc. But when the semester ends, the town goes back to its central NY roots

Depends on the School

If you are a student in the Park School of Communications, School of Music, physical therapy program, or theatre department you will be getting a top-notch education. Our theatre department is consistently ranked as one of the top 10 in the country. Alumni are extremely helpful in job/internship searches, as well.

Some Classes Fill Up Fast

Some classes fill up quickly, especially theatre and communications, mainly because of their high demand and stature as one of the best in the country.

Blue-Light Systems Almost Everywhere

It is impossible to walk around campus without seeing at least two or three blue-light security systems. Student security workers also keep the campus safe, along with Ithaca city police.

Great IT Dept.

the IT dept is great & printing is included in tuition so you can print unlimited copies of papers. There is almost always open computers in the labs unless it is finals week.

Strange Exteriors, Great Facilities

the campus is littered with very strange exteriors to academic buildings. Some buildings are state of the art while others look like they are from a stanley kubrick film

Top Notch

While there isn't much variety, the quality of the food is excellent. Almost all produce is grown organically and locally.
