No football team; school spirit for the athletics is generally low (but school spirit in general is in NO way lacking)! It truly is a "beach-state-of-mind" when it comes to athletics. Intramural sports and club sports are popular and seem well-funded/well-provided for!

The student body, as a whole, looks like a typical California beach college! So many work-out, are fit, and are tan! (not that that automatically makes one attractive) From what I've seen in comparison to other colleges, UNCW is very attractive in both women and men. (though this is coming from a straight man's perspective, lol) There are a lot of bleach-blondes here (and they are a little beautiful, haha), and most of the guys are generally fratty/laid-back. There aren't as many "artistic" people as I would have liked, though! (like I would consider myself)

I am in no way racist, but I have NEVER seen so many White people in my life! (I see why they call it "UNC-White" now, no offense, lol) Minorities are few and far between, but the campus as a whole seems very open-minded and welcome to diversity. However, as it natural for one to gravitate toward people of one's own ethnic/cultural background, it may be hard, at first, for many minorities to find their "niche". Most people are Protestant Christian, and a surprising number attend Church services regularly. Though the campus isn't as politically active as Chapel Hill, it is about half conservative and half liberal. (which is way more conservatives than I expected from a college campus) Most people seem like they are from the middle to upper classes, though you can't always tell someone's economic class (or other characteristics) just by looking at them! Don't be afraid to branch out and explore different groups of people!

Lots of off-campus housing options, though I haven't found any that seem as nice as on-campus so far!

Cornerstone is the best/newest/most luxurious for the freshmen on-campus residence halls. Other dorms range from fair to good, from what I've seen/heard. The Landing/Crossing is the best for upperclassmen who want to stay on-campus, from what I have heard/seen!

So many restaurants/bars/eateries/local spots that are so delicious and diverse in terms of cuisine. Wilmington is nothing, if not the typical beach town with lots to choose as far as food!

UNCW is constantly raising the bar/standards when it comes to facility quality; new construction and public/physical improvements are everywhere! (i.e. new Recreation Center)

Some of the computers are slow and at times need IT assistance as they can freeze/have problems, though the university does generally have good computers services. Wi-fi is great, except late at night when everyone is online, then ethernet is needed for a stable connection. iPrint allows a student to print from anywhere to almost every location; very handy, except when printers are out! (not too often, though)

Safe campus, emergency boxes and police around; no problems! I've never been to the Health Center, but it seems helpful and healthy! (ha? get it?)

Lots of bars, restaurants, and things to do around Wilmington, not in the least is the beach, of course!
