Can't Possibly Be Safe

Howard University is an open campus. There is absolutely no way for us to be entirely safe from anything. We have had snippers, to robbers, drug abusers to homeless people just walking around on campus. One of my friends was robbed right in front of his dormitory with a campus police car parked on the corner, however, no one was in the car to help him. The bandroom was broken into and the band students were easily robbed and none of their things could be replaced and this happened on campus in a school building, yet we are respinsible for our on things. Overall, I just depend on myself and peers. Our campus police have yet to prove themselves useful to me.
