Middlebury College Parking was reviewed by tharding2

If You Need a Car, It's Easy – Parking permits are easy to get as a student, but the older you are the better your parking choices are. Student cars have to be parked in certain lots on campus rather than left on the streets, which have hourly limits to their parking spaces.

In my opinion a car is not necessary here. You can rent ZipCars from campus and the local shuttle bus is really convenient. Plus, most places are within walking/biking distance to start with.

Middlebury College Local Atmosphere was reviewed by tharding2

Fantastic If You Like What's Here – ...otherwise it could get a bit boring. Middlebury is a small town but if you are interested in any outdoor activities (running, skiing, biking, snowshoeing, rock climbing, hiking, etc) there is lots to do! Middlebury as a town has a number of stores and everything you need is within walking or biking distance. For more, Burlington is only a 40 minute drive and has a lot more options. As a close knit, rural community, Middlebury is completely safe and friendly towards the college, which provides a good portion of its population.

Easy Process, Okay Results – For a school with as much money as Middlebury has, they could be a little more generous with financial aid. However, they assess your need accurately and the financial aid office is really friendly and helpful to work with if you have any questions or concerns.

Middlebury College Campus Dining was reviewed by tharding2

Great but Sometimes Repetitive – Food here is amazing, don't get me wrong. Lots of choices including really healthy food, locals and organics, fitting vegetarian/vegan/allergy/other restricted diets, etc. Sometimes it would be nice to have more food options that weren't dining halls, though.

Not Just Athletes – Great performers on and off the field. Athletes are students too.

No Bad Choices – I lived in Battell my freshman year. It is the biggest freshman dorm and arguably the "worst" housing on campus, though everything is relative. Middlebury really doesn't have any awful options - even our "worst" is better than a lot of schools's "best"s

Great Reputation for Great Reasons – Any Midd student will tell you - Academics here are taken seriously. Professors are available for extra help anytime you need them, and peers serve as fantastic tutors and assistants with labs, projects, or papers as well. There is a high standard here and most everybody lives up to it.

Middlebury College Health & Safety was reviewed by tharding2

Nothing to Worry About – Midd is totally safe! It is small, and pretty regularly patrolled by Public Safety. Never have I felt unsafe walking around alone or at night or anything, and I haven't even heard anything about petty theft - people here are respectful.

Consequences Are Reasonable. Nobody at Midd is out to get you. If you break a rule and are caught, your case will be reviewed and given appropriate punishment.
