Safe
There's always emails about major outbreaks, and Loyola Campus Police and 8-Ride are on duty to pick students up/keep students safe.

You Can Use Them, but...
The computer lab (the IC) is more of a social place than a good study spot, even on the quiet floors. There aren't many printers either. You only get 3 dollars for printing for the year. After that, you pay for yourself. Rip off.

A Beautiful Construction Zone
Loyola is gorgeous if you don't mind the ugly construction and demolition of buildings in the background. Don't worry. It should be all cleared up by the time you graduate. It really is pretty. It's just ruined by the construction. The lake is beautiful, too. There's really no student center, and the library is decent enough. Athletic centers are fine but are being updated, too.

All Depends on the Person
Dorms-
Freshmen- they say that Mertz is the social dorm. That might be true. It's also the dorm where people are usually inconsiderate and cliquey, at least that was my experience in Mertz.
Regis and Simpson are the nicest, but they are usually the most anti-social since you don't have community bathrooms.
Upperclassmen- Go for Spring Hill (it may be a walk, but the rooms are HUGE), Fordham for the lake views if you don't mind the guest check-in policy, Baumhart for the downtown life, Georgetown and Marquette are good too! Stay away from Rockhurst (EW, it's disgusting- even the balconies can't make up for it) and Holy Cross (no air, and YES, it does matter since the dorms are always boiling). Juniors and seniors can live in Santa Clara, right on the lake- it's beautiful(limited availability).
Try to find a roommate on facebook and see if you connect with them. Loyola doesn't really take your consideration into account despite your roommate survey. I got paired with someone I was completely different from. Disaster!
Overall, campus housing is a game of luck.

The Nice Is Way Pricey, and the Cheap Can Be Sketch...
That's just my opinion though. The Morgan is a general favorite, and it's super nice. North Shore Apartments is pretty good too. If you're offered a deal that seems too good to be true, it is. You're probably in an unsafe area, and it's def not worth it.

HA
Do not come to Loyola if you're into athletics. Our "undefeated", nonexistent football team is our glory of athletics. The admin is trying to get a football team on campus though. Athletics really isn't that big of a part to Loyola.

So Diverse
Loyola is probably the most diverse religious affiliated university that I can think of. Not every school with people of all beliefs, religions, sexualities, cultures and races can be in harmony like they are at Loyola.

GO GREEK!
There are three IFC fraternities (since Alpha Delta Gamma has been suspended for a few years): Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Sigma Pi, and Tau Kappa Epsilon. There are four NPC sororities on campus: Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Sigma Alpha, Kappa Kappa Gamma, and Phi Sigma Sigma. This fall, Chi Omega is colonizing at Loyola. So we will have five chapters (After January when the Chi Omega colony becomes a chapter).
There are over ten (I believe it's 12) MGC organizations, as well! There are also business and service fraternities.
Being Greek may not define Loyola, but being Greek definitely is a great experience at Loyola. It's not like a state school's Greek life. It's a community, and it's getting better with each year.
