Preppy to the Max
While the personalities of the people may vary, the dress stays very similar. Most girls seemed perfectly coiffed every day. The guys tend to look like they are about to walk into an interview. Most of the people are very preppy. The upside is that everybody is super nice, and even if you don't dress like they do you aren't judged.

Decent Parking
All spots are designated. The price of the permit is was too high. The campus is small enough that there is no need to drive to class at all. The one downside is that freshmen get the shaft when it comes to parking. While some of the freshman parking is right next to four of the freshman dorms, it is clear across campus from the other freshman dorms.

Walking
Everyone walks. The campus is too small to drive around and the parking spots near the academic buildings are reserved for faculty only. The only downside is that in the winter you really have to bundle up when it gets windy.

Greencastle Is a Very Small Town
There are two main restaurants that students frequent: Almost Home and Casa Grande. Almost Home has extremely good food, but it comes with a price. Good to splurge on if you are dying for a home-cooked meal. Casa Grande is a Mexican restaurant. It is awesome and the pricing is good for a student budget. A little known place is the Monon Restaurant. The food is just as good as Almost Home's and it has really cheap pricing. For example, the other night they had all-you-can-eat ribs for 8 dollars.

Avoid Hogate and Anderson Street
The freshman dorms really aren't that bad except for Hogate Hall and Anderson Street Hall. While the South Quad may be more exciting since it is all freshman, North Quad is right in the middle of campus and makes everything easier to get to. Plus North Quad is a mix of freshman and upperclassmen, and much closer to a bunch of the greek houses.

Absolutely Nothing to Do
If you want entertainment the best shot you have is going to a party. There is one tiny movie theater in town, but it only shows two movies and a time, and the theaters are gross.

Greek Community
The greek community really sets DePauw apart from the rest. It is not only a ton of fun, but it is a great way to meet new people and help out the community. Around 75% of the campus is greek, which may daunt some people, but there trully is a house for everyone. If you choose to stay independent you can still be involved, but it is harder.
