Local Atmosphere in West Lafayette
Compared to other schools that I have visited West Lafayette is a small town with a good amount of stuff to do. The bar scene is small, but it has history and it is always fun. There are a lot of restaurants and stores that are on campus. West Lafayette is a true college town.

Greeks
The Greek life is huge at Purdue. There are so many organizations to choose from and there are always parties. Unfortunately, it does kind of dominate the scene at Purdue. But there are also a lot of people that aren't Greek as well so you will find your niche no matter what.
