What Professors Are Like from a Design Student Perspective.

The teachers who work at RIT are simply top of the line. I've personally taken a large array of classes from all different colleges, and every time i've had a great experience. Specifically within my college, the College of Imaging Arts & Sciences (CIAS), the design school is home to 2 of the most famous living type designers in the world, Kris Holmes and Charles Bigelow. CIAS is also known for their leading school of american crafts for which each advisor is a renowned artist, and every one of these advisors currently has a piece in the Smithsonian. The teachers here really lead by example as well as show true care when leading us through school and assisting us with finding career opportunities. I've never missed a class except for illness, because i simply love class and all the teachers i've had so far!

Facilities at Rochester Institute of Technology

B+

So Much to Look at, and So Many Places to Go!

I really adore RIT's campus aesthetic because each year they keep adding more and more to see! Just recently they put in a whole new dorm area with fountains and wonderful heated outdoor seating areas. They've also put extra effort into creating more "green" area and putting in trees to make the campus look friendlier. RIT also provides us with almost unlimited choices for places to go study, hangout, or grab food! I've spoken to several friends from other private institutions, and no one mentions anything like the choices we have here. I feel a lot of RIT students take for granted the food choices, or the different facilities we have, because they havent taken advantage of them yet. After exploring campus, i quickly found some places i really like to go study or get work done, all are outlet accessible for laptops, and most are indoors!

Diversity at Rochester Institute of Technology

I Learned Sign Language and I Love It Now!

Something i feel is especially amazing about the RIT community is the NTID (national technical institute for the deaf) which is located right on campus. This is home to largest deaf population in Rochester, which is the largest deaf city in the country! Coming to this school, knowing that i was going to be immersed in all different cultures, i never expected to be interested in another culture so quickly. The friendliness and overall openness the staff at RIT exemplifies really brought me to want to learn sign language. I've met several people who are deaf, and i probably wouldnt have met them if it wasn't for the great ties RIT makes between deaf and hearing people. I really love going to a school and learning about other people and their language & beliefs. I feel it's really interesting.
