Health & Safety at College of William & Mary

B+

Campus Safety @ William & Mary

William & Mary is a fairly safe campus. Overall campus crime is very low. The students overwhelmingly adhere to the campus honor code and thefts are very minimal. It is common to leave your computer lying around the library in the morning and find it in the same position later in the evening. There have been a few rare cases of personal theft but they often only include bicycle theft. In regard to personal safety, William & Mary organizations such as Campus Escort and Steer Clear do an excellent job providing a safe transportation program for students during the nighttime hours. Additionally, campus police are excellent at responding swiftly to any incidents. I give William & Mary a solid B+ grade.

Facilities at College of William & Mary

A-

On Campus Is the Place to Be

The facilities at William & Mary either fall in the great or average category. The campus is currently going through an overhaul of the air conditioning system and it is being completely in stages. Therefore, some buildings are new and improved while others have construction happening in and around them. The campus is brimming with activities. There is never a night that something is not going on as it relates to student activities. I'd even venture to say that there is TOO MUCH going on. Definitely a solid A- for this category.

Nightlife at College of William & Mary

C+

Drinks?

One of the popular refrains of William & Mary is: "Work hard, party hard." The students spend countless hours cramming their brains with information. Therefore, it's only natural to let loose and drink till you've forgotten all the countless hours you've spent reading articles and books during the week. On a typical weekend there are numerous house parties that happen around the college. The bar scene is only reserved for those that are above 21 and these locations are sub-par at best. It's great to go to the bars as a senior if you want to get away from all the underclassmen, but get ready to dish out a decent amount of cash in order to get somewhat inebriated. As for the club scene goes, the answer is easy. There is no club scene. Williamsburg, is in need of a huge overhaul for it's nightlife.
