Living on Campus Is Great!
I am a junior at Purdue this year and have loved living in Shreve Hall each year. And I plan on staying my senior year. The dorms provide a wonderful atmosphere that encourages academics but also the social aspect of college. There is never a shortage of people to spend time with and get to know. Living in the dorms has allowed me to develop a close community of friends. Whether they live down the hall, on a different floor, or on the guys side of the dorm, I always have the chance to spend time with people. We have TV rooms, a lounge with ping pong and pool, as well as a spacious lobby which are great places hang out. The dorms also provide various places to be alone, which may include the dorm room or study lounges where students can focus on homework.
Another great aspect of dorm life is the location. Shreve is central to all the other dorms and is very close to campus. Even though there is not a dining hall in Shreve, it only takes a few minutes to walk to any of the dining options. While living in the dorm, students have a meal plan. We're all busy college students, so it is a blessing to not have to worry about cooking for ourselves.
We have our whole lives to live in houses or apartments. So why not live in amazing dorms with convenient locations and a great social and academic atmosphere. I love dorm life! So come and join me in Shreve Hall.
