DPS Does a Good Job

DPS officers are always visible on campus and the areas around campus where USC students hang out. They are there to keep the students safe, not police them.

Campus Housing at University of Southern California

B+

Campus Housing Is a Compromise

Campus housing is generally just for freshman. Wherever you live on campus, it's a compromise. If you at Parkside A&H or IRC you get beautiful dorms with the best dinning on campus but Parkside is characterized as being less social (known as the "Darkside") and people find it difficult to meet people other than their suitemates. The dorms in east campus are older, standard college dorms with no air conditioning and mediocre dinning but they are right in the middle of the action on campus and are very social and easy to meet people. Freshman year is about meeting as many people as possible and establishing a group of friends. You can live in a nice apartment later, I recommend living on East campus.

Best of Both Worlds

Getting a good college education is extremely important for success in this increasingly competitive world. Additionally, college is meant to be the most fun time in a person's life. After college you will be expected to work or go to grad school so its important to have a lot of fun while you still can! USC offers a world-class education with one of the most fun social scenes in the country. It has the best of both worlds.
