It's a Crapshoot, Some Buildings Are Good...Others Not So Much
The new gym at Pitzer is relatively nice but it is very small. In reality the buildings are satisfactory but if you want something more you can use some of the facilities at the other colleges. The joint facilities, such as the joint science department, are really nice.

School Policies Relatively Lax
In general Pitzer is very lenient when it comes to affecting student's academic or social lives. My freshman RA once walked by my friends open door and saw them drinking and just requested that they shut it. As long as alcohol is not in an open container that is clearly labeled to hold alcohol (i.e. not in a solo cup) you wont be caused any trouble. With pot it's a little more strict because you can detect it's smell but again it has only been when the main Resident Director walks by and smells it that anything is done about it.

Better Girls Than Guys
There are many attractive guys at Pitzer, although they all tend to fit into two categories: bros or hippies. As for the girls I've heard guys across the 5 campuses say Pitzer has the finest ladies.

There Are Sports?
No one really pays attention to sports at Pitzer, although there are a myriad of opportunities to do sports with the Pomona-Pitzer team. The athletic facilities are pretty nice and when there is a rival game students do go out to show there support, but overall no one really knows when there is a game going on.

Pretty Pricey
There are a few good restaurants in the Claremont Village but most of them are pretty expensive. Casa Blanca is a tasty restaurant serving Mediterranean food, but entrees are around $20 a plate which is extremely pricey for a poor college student. It'd be a nice place to take someone on a date though.

Many Upper Classmen Prefer Off Campus Housing
Although the junior/senior suites that Pitzer offers their upperclassmen are fairly nice, they can't compare to the newer apartments offered off campus. It's nice to live on campus because everything is close and if you live off campus you will need a bike or car and the parking is limited, but the housing off campus is reasonable and nice.

Diversity Is Pitzer's Strength
In nationwide rankings Pitzer always does well in the area of diversity. Twice a year Pitzer holds their Diversity Program to bring kids from all over the U.S. to visit Pitzer. Often the kids that go on this program end up coming to Pitzer which has helped the school's diversity tremendously. Although the majority of the students are white, the amount of diversity Pitzer attracts for being a small school is astounding.

Pitzer Is Safe
Overall Pitzer is very safe. There are always the usual bike thefts and occasionally sketchy people from L.A. and the surrounding areas come to campus but it is a rarity. As a female I have walked to the other campuses alone at midnight and never felt threatened. Although the campus is safe I don't think that Campus Security is well organized and I think that overall they have been lucky there aren't too many crazy folks around.

Labs Are Always Accessible
The computer lab at Pitzer is always accessible with your key card that allows you to swipe yourself in at any time of the day or night. The labs usually have spots available if you need to use the computer. There is campus-wide Wi-Fi which works well outdoors but not so well in the dorms. If you want good internet in your dorm you should definitely have an ethernet cord. You don't have to have a laptop, but it would be extremely useful just in case there isn't any room in the lab.

Dorms Are Best Freshman Year
The Freshman dorms on campus are only about 4 years old and definitely the nicest on campus even though they are the smallest dorms. All dorms on campus have bathrooms in between every two rooms so you practically have your own bathroom. On campus housing is worst Sophomore year but junior and senior year you can live in suites that share a living room. It is rumored that Pitzer will begin constructing new dorms for the upperclassmen that will be ready in 2013
