Housing is not guaranteed for juniors and seniors. So off campus housing is needed in some situations (not many). If you are looking to get a "house" in the immediate Georgetown area, you'll need to sign a lease probably around October for the following fall. They go quickly. Avoid the dangerous Burleith.

Metro, What Metro?
There is no metro stop close to Georgetown, unlike most city schools. To get to the nearest metro, you have to take the GUTS bus - a Georgetown operated shuttle - which isn't bad. Once you get to a metro, you can basically go anywhere in the city. Taxis are pricey but available. Don't expect to find parking anywhere on campus. In terms of long distance transportation, BoltBus, Megabus, and Amtrak are the way to go.
