What Diversity?
As expected, UVM does not have much diversity but the school does make an effort to make the students of color feel welcome. As a minority myself I do not feel out of place; everyone is welcoming. Of course, it would be nice to see more diversity here but Vermont isn't known for being a melting pot.

Academics
There are a variety of classes one can take that are very interesting. Of course, like at any other university, there are professors who are extremely knowledgeable and others who have no clue what they are doing. Overall the professors are helpful and there if one has concerns about his/her class. The workload isn't too overbearing. During exam week, the library gets very crowded and it is hard to find a quiet place to study.

Local Atmosphere
From what I have seen, Burlington is a very laid back town. Everyone seems happy to here which is nice to see. Burlington is a small town and for someone who is used to a city and a fast paced lifestyle, Burlington is definitely an adjustment. Church Street has a lot of restaurants - especially nice during the nicer weather. Burlington seems safe but there are a lot of homeless people. Burlington is VERY outdoor oriented. The locals don't seem to mind the college students. If I have to get one point across it is that Burlington is an absolutely beautiful town with the mountains and Lake Champlain surrounding you, you will never get over the natural beauty.

Greek Life
The Greek life at UVM is pretty tame. It does not have a huge effect on the social scene. Occasionally, we'll hear about a frat party going on but other than that Greek life does not rule the school. Of course, there are the obnoxious frat guys but they are easy to ignore. Not all fraternities and sororities have housing but the houses that are available for Greek life seem to look nice from the outside.
