Diversity Is Improving
Lately, there have been a string of attacks against people of different ethnic groups around campus. The police and campus security are doing their best to ensure the students' safety. There were also incidents involving the Native American club spreading offensive pamphlets to other minorities, that requested the other minority to leave the country. The school confronted the group on that issue as well, but didn't deal with the issue to my satisfaction. There are a lot of Caucasians and students of Asian descent attending the school.

Science Courses Suck
As a pre-med student I'm required to take A LOT of science courses. These classes were very hard to get into because they filled up so quickly. The teachers were hard to get a hold of, but the Teaching Assistants were wonderful. There are a lot of comfortable spots to study. The registration process is pretty easy unless Duckweb stops working. The workload is extremely heavy though. Sometimes it feels like these teachers don't realize that we have other classes to prepare for as well. Labs weren't that enjoyable because if you didn't understand the concept during class, then you definitely weren't going to get it during lab time.

Small Town
The bar scene in Eugene is okay. The club scene is horrible. It seems like there are only three clubs in Eugene that play music that you can really dance to. Out of those three, two of them are so small that everyone is packed too close to dance. If you're underage, there's really nothing for you to do unless you can find some house parties. I don't really like the house parties that I've been to thus far. All anyone wanted to do was drink and get high. There are cabs that you can call for transportation and the buses run until 10:45 pm.
