Close to Campus but Not the Best Area
There are dozens of apartments very close to campus with reasonable rent. However, right around campus is not a great area of town and I would prefer living a little further away in a nicer area. Regardless of whether you live close to campus or a short drive away finding an apartment in Las Vegas that suits your budget is not hard there are a lots of options for every budget.

Non Greek
I am a not a member of greek life and I find the greek life at UNLV to be a very closed off group. Meaning either you are one of them or you aren't but if you do not belong they will let you know. Not something I am interested in being a part of.

Financial Aid = HELL
Getting a hold of anyone at financial aid even to ask a few simple questions is a very long and frustrating process. For example, I called the financial aid office this morning to ask a few questions about tuition this semester and I was hung up on 3 times then waited on hold for about 40 minutes before being disconnected a fourth time. When you do actually reach a living human being they do not always provide you with accurate information nor do they care about your situation. No one at the financial aid department has ever gone out of their way to help me as a student or act like they care in the slightest.
