Lots to Do!
The area of Orlando in which UCF is located is home to thousands and thousands of college students. As a result there are a great variety of restaurants, shopping, bars, etc. You could basically find anything you could possibly want or need in the UCF area.

Pros and Cons
The dining halls are not consistent; sometimes there are a few good options, other times there is nothing at all. The student union and a various other places on campus hold a variety of other food options, basically everything a student could be looking for. The problem is that the meal plan covers NONE of these places. Only the dining hall is including and it gets old very quickly. I wouldn't recommend a big meal plan.

Can't Wait to Get Through Freshman Year
My experience at UCF has for the most part been positive. The worst thing I've experienced so far is living on campus without a car. The campus turns into a ghost town on the weekends and there is nothing to do during the day. Without a car and any type of transportation offered by the school, my roommate and I often find ourselves sitting around doing nothing. The pool closes from November 1st until mid-February which is absolutely ridiculous and we were never warned about this occuring. No one lives on campus and I would not recommend it. The only benefit is waking up 15 minutes before class. Nightlife is fun, the surrounding bars as well as the downtown bars/clubs have a lot to offer students. If you aren't into the partying scene good luck finding something else to do on the weekends. Other than that, the school itself is great. I've enjoyed my classes for the most part up to this point and the facilities are great.
