Nice College Town
Newark is a safe town that has a lot to offer. Main street is packed with restaurants and bars. Also Philly and Baltimore are close and offer great nightlife

Not Too Bad
The school isn't really that strict on the important things. In terms of drinking its pretty easy to get away with. The campus police may be around, but i never really see them get anyone in trouble who wasn't acting obnoxious

Alcohol and Pot
The original real "drugs" are alcohol and pot. Alcohol is pretty visible on campus in the dorms, especially during the weekend. Students who choose not to drink are respected on campus

Variety of Majors
Delaware offers a variety of majors. Majors such as engineering, nursing or pre-vet are especially good here

Campus Is Safe
The overall campus is very safe. Blue lights are everywhere and the UD police are always present. There have been a couple of things such as robberies, but these have not been on campus. Some people say Newark is an unsafe town, but they are being overdramatic. The fact is this is a college town and people know that so some people attempt to take advantage of that. Just be smart and don't walk alone at night. Newark is still a nice town and offers a lot more safety than a lot of other schools

Beautiful School
The campus here is really pretty. Many of the buildings have an antique, old school quality to them. Also the gym has plenty to offer such as rock climbing and swimming. In addition the gym is getting a renovation so it will be even better in 2013. The student centers offer great food and are fun to hang out in

Good-looking people
Speaking on a superficial level the campus is known for having good looking people. There are more girls here than guys so it seems like guys have the advantage, however I never hear of girls having problems finding hook-ups or even boyfriends.

Safe but be smart
The campus itself is smart. UD isn't really in an urban area so the campus offers a lot more safety than a lot of other schools. Blue lights are all around campus and can be used whenever someone doesn't feel safe. Some incidents around town have raised some concern, but these are always in areas where students usually do not go to. You can be safe here just be smart, don't walk alone at night

Good sports,
The sports here are really good, in particular football. At times there can be less fans than there used to be, but many students still come out to support the time. A issue with not letting students tailgate made some students not come, but the stadium was still packed with fans, both non-student and student. Fortunately, it does not seem like the tailgating thing will last long or be as strict in future years, so that will bring back fans. Either way sports are a great option here to either attend or be a part of. Many students partake in club sports as well

Nice town close to big cities
Newark has everything you need in a college town. However, after a while many students crave a change of pace so the close cities of Baltimore and Philly provide a nice break

Parties everywhere
There are always parties on campus. I have only been to two parties that have been busted and all that happened was that the students were asked to leave. Parties in the beginning of the year are more likely to get busted, but only because of the influx of new freshman roaming the street. This quickly changes. People who are 21 and older have plenty of bars to go to. Parties are easy for both girls and guys to get into

Love it so far
People should really take these posts with a grain of salt. Usually it seems like there are two type of people those who love the school they go to and praise it and those who hate it and have a vendetta against it however. I'll admit my love for this school may blind me some of it's flaws, but i truly can't comprehend why anyone wouldn't enjoy it here. So far, in my freshman year I have met great friends, taken classes with fantastic teachers and gone to amazing parties. I'm not saying this school is perfect and everyone should make the right college decision for themselves. Take the good reviews with the bad, but in my honest opinion this school is amazing

Big here
Greek life is big here. However, it is not so big that you have to join to fit in. Frats are the main source of parties, but also provide great philanthropy. As a member of Greek Life here i strongly recommend it, but understand that it is not right for everyone
