Academics at University of Notre Dame

A-

Great Community

The academics at Notre Dame can certainly be challenging, but in my experience, everyone is there to work toward a common goal. Professors and other students are there to help you succeed and there are plenty of opportunities to do well. Class difficulty seems to vary greatly depending on the program you are in, but every student is required to take seminar classes, which are small and discussion based (and they also require attendance). For the most part, professors are very good at what they do and they genuinely care to help you learn.

Scholarships at University of Notre Dame

A-

No Academic Scholarships

There are no academic scholarships at Notre Dame. That being said, a lot of the financial aid process does take merit into account. According to the financial aid officers, a portion of the financial aid package is dependent on merit and academic success. However, if you don't qualify for financial aid, they will not give you any scholarships. So unless you qualify for financial aid or you're an athlete, you're out of luck when it comes to scholarships.

Facilities at University of Notre Dame

A-

Library

The library is a personal favorite. There are 14 floors of study space, plenty of books, a great view (if you can snag a coveted window seat), and plenty of other study related materials available. There are floors that are nearly silent, as well as those that house the more chatty. There are also several group study rooms, which work well for group projects.

Parking at University of Notre Dame

B-

No Parking Near Dorms

There are absolutely no parking lots in the interior of campus. All students must park in lots that are set off away from the rest of campus. There is little need to leave campus, so its not a huge hassle. But it is quite annoying when you have to walk out there in the middle of a snow storm in December.
