Campus Security at Duquesne
Although Duquesne is in the middle of the city, the campus environment creates its own bubble around the school. Campus police are constantly patrolling in and around the area, and I have never heard of an incident on campus. The surrounding area certainly isn't somewhere you want to stray alone at night, but we fortunately have a hospital right next door! As for the campus itself, rules are pretty strict, and well enforced, but the college atmosphere still manages to survive and thrive despite this.

Greeks? Hardly.
Greek life IS on campus, but only just. There are no sorority or frat houses, and I rarely hear of them doing anything fun or interesting. Duquesne definitely isn't the place to go for Greek life in Pittsburgh.

Drinking Is Most Popular
Because of the strict rules and regulations of Duquesne, drug and alcohol use is pretty rare, although not unheard of. Police are routinely called in for pot busts, although the numbers of cigarette smokers are ridiculously high. Alcohol isn't uncommon, but definitely watch where and when you're using it, because RA's are usually on constant patrol
