Pitt Academics

There are many areas to study, and hundreds of classes to choose from. The GenEds are great, and very interesting, I feel Pitt has the ability to mold a well rounded graduate, if he/she puts in the effort. I am in the Business school. The College of Business Administration is a small community within Pitt and has a lot of resources for the students, which is very helpful. I do feel that there are too many requirments for a degree in BA. Sonme of the professors are great teachers, and others are very successful in the career and are not good educators. This leaves the students to teach themselves.

Business Administration - Marketing

My major is Business Administration with a concentration in marketing. We have many requirements (14 business core courses and 60 credits of GenEds) before we take actual courses that are directed towards are major, and it is very tedious. Many courses overlap and seem like a waste of time and money. We only take 8 courses directed towards each business concentration, I feel the students are well rounded and understand a lot about other areas but could have more knowledge in their own concentration. The business school has great facilities for students: a leadership and career devolpment center (strictly for business students), an online web portal, newest technology.
