Great Nightlife for Over-21S
If you're over 21, the nightlife in Richmond is great! There are PLENTY of bars and clubs near campus. There is a place for every type of person to hang out and feel comfortable. There is a free bus called To the Bottom and Back that drives from Carytown to Downtown from Thursday to Saturday, picking up and dropping off students to avoid drinking and driving. In my opinion, house parties are overrated.

Inconsistent
The weather is a bit strange and inconsistent in Richmond. One day it could be 80 degrees and sunny and the next, 50 degrees and raining. It gets hot in the summer months but in the fall and spring, it is mild and a lot of people hang out outside and relax in the park. It rains quite a lot year-round but it only snows occasionally. When it snows and the roads ice over, classes usually get cancelled because there are a lot of off-campus students that have to commute.

The Honors College
Being a member of the Honors College is a great experience. However, you must meet certain requirements to be accepted, you have to take specific Honors classes, and you must maintain at least a 3.5 GPA in order to graduate with honors. There are a lot of benefits for honors students, including an honors-only dorm and small class sizes (all honors classes have 20 or less students). Honors students get to register for classes earlier than other students and are encouraged to conduct research and present at various research conferences. There is a whole staff of people at the Honors College that are always ready to assist and advise students.

Ram Nation
Our VCU men's basketball program is amazing! There are a lot of die-hard student fans but after making it to the final four last year, the students have become even more involved. We have a huge alumni fan-base as well. The atmosphere at the Siegel Center during a game is one of the most exhilarating experiences, especially when we're playing one of our biggest rivals.
