Work Hard, Play Hard – Many students come to Duke University with basketball in mind, but they realize they have to balance their priorities if they want to stay enrolled. The unofficial motto at Duke is "work hard, play hard." Students are extremely devoted to their studies during the week, but know how to unwind after a particularly grueling exam. This rare balance makes Duke a unique and enjoyable university to attend.
