Lots of Drinking and Smoking, Other Drugs Are There but Not as Visible
Lots of people drink, seeing more than one ambulance at the freshmen dorms on a weekend night is not unusual. A fair number of people smoke too, if you watch the door of any dorm you'll see lots of people leave for shady corners of the parking lot. Other drugs are around, but you have to look for them.

More Lots Needed
Freshmen can't have cars. For upperclassmen, convenient parking is concentrated in a couple lots, and many buildings do not have their own lot. Finding convenient parking for your building can be difficult, usually spots only open up on weekends. There is no off-campus parking.

Transportation Is OK, Though Often Not on Time and Slow.
There is a shuttle around campus, there is also one available to Harvard Square which many freshmen take. During the summer there is a shuttle to the nearby Burlington Mall.
