There are an average amount of scholarships, but they can be limited. By combining what NEU gives you with federal loans and grants it can be affordable. I've found the process easy and haven't had problems accessing my financial aid.

There's an average amount of diversity, there are quite a lot of people from different countries. Acceptance of people of different ethnic groups and sexual orientation is very good. There is a sizable and welcome LGBT crowd at Northeastern.

As a psychology major, I am really happy with my program. I have really enjoyed most of my classes, you are allowed a lot of flexibility with the classes you can choose to take, and I've liked all of my professors. Also the psychology electives are really cool. It could be a bit more challenging however.

Once students are 21, nightlife is great. There are a ton of great bars nearby and quite a few right by campus. The house party scene is fun for students under 21, but isn't as abundant as a lot of other schools.

Love Boston! The atmosphere around NU is great. There is just enough balance with a home feeling on campus and a wide variety of things to do off campus. Both campus and the city seem very safe. The people here are all very nice and helpful towards students.

The campus isn't overly strict about underage drinking and drug use. They won't go out of their way to bust you, but if you're being loud and obvious you are going to get in trouble. I have known quite a few people who have been sent to our office of student conduct and conflict resolution for drinking or smoking in the dorms, so you still need to be careful.

Very Safe Campus – I always feel very safe on campus. Although the NUPD are very friendly and generally stay out of your way, however they have enough of a presence to make you feel that they are watching out for your safety.

Interesting Classes and Great Professors – I'm a psychology major, and so far I have loved all of the classes and professors I have taken for psych so far.

Cold and Windy – Weather has been hard to adjust to coming from Texas. I don't think I would mind the cold if it wasn't so windy.
