Drugs are not huge part of the lifestyle here in Columbia. People who use tend to keep to themselves and you dont have to worry about being uncomfortable around them. Most of it happens behind closed doors so its not prevalent. I've been to plenty of other schools where it is out in the open and that is not the case here.

Tough
Academics are tough but if you take advantage of tutoring and resources you will be fine. Most upperclassmen that I know have had no trouble getting into great grad schools.

Good looking
Honestly most girls here great. Walking around campus they tend to smile and say hey to people. The fact that everyone is so friendly makes for a great campus environment. You see a range but for the most part they are southern belles and look great no matter what they are wearing. Guys wear your typical frat attire and are expected to hold doors for women. Ive been to other schools that are nowhere near as polite.

It is a city
Not sure what people expect but Columbia is a city so you have to pay attention when you go out. Crime is not rampant but you do need to be smart about what you are doing.
