Off-Campus Housing at University of Arizona

B

Off-Campus Options

The U of A campus is really nice but located in an old part of town. Houses are all 30 years old near campus and can be pretty steep if you are looking for something really close. Parking can be an issue, and parking passes run about $500 if you are looking to drive to school from off campus. South and West of campus can get sketchy, but North and East, especially Sam Hughes area and near Mountain, are pretty safe and nice. Apartments are really common but some popular ones are very far from campus.

Weather at University of Arizona

A-

HOT

UA is in the desert. And it gets really hot, and sometimes we have torrential downpours and the streets flood. BUT the girls are all dressed as bunnies on Halloween and no one is shivering. We can go to all of the football games without being miserable when it's cold out. Shorts, flip-flops, tank tops, and pool parties are the upside to a warm climate, and I'll take that any day.

Health & Safety at University of Arizona

A

Safe.

The U of A is really safe. We walk around all the time late at night and know that everything will be fine, because it's well-lit and there are emergency lights everywhere. The police usually have to patrol more for underage drinking than anything

Athletics at University of Arizona

A+

BEAR DOWN

Athletics are huge at UA! It brings everyone together and means a great time on a Saturday afternoon. Game Days mean giving it your all during the day and not going out that night. Our facilities are amazing, and it's not just football we're proud of. Wildcats are proud of all of our teams, including baseball, hockey, and swimming. UA wear is seen on anyone and everyone, especially working out at the Rec.

Computers at University of Arizona

A-

Legit

We have a ton of labs everywhere. Printing is expensive in the library and kind of a pain. Our wifi is pretty solid normally, and we always use D2L for assignments. I don't know anyone who doesn't have their own printer and laptop though.

Off-Campus Dining at University of Arizona

B+

Mmm

There are coupon books that are handed out at the beginning of the semester, and those are great to stock up on. On campus, food can get expensive, but we all go to Starbucks all the time. The crepe place at PSU is great

Transportation at University of Arizona

B

Driving

Parking passes and parking in general is a constant pain in the ass. I don't know anyone who hasn't had at least 3 parking tickets. Parking passes are expensive but worth it, although sometimes they are packed. Cattran isn't used much by students but it's great and easy. Saferide is also really nice but sometimes hard to rely on, like on game days or when it's rainy. City traffic really sucks though. Bikes are super popular.

Nightlife at University of Arizona

A

Wildcats

UA knows how to throw down. The bars are your typical college small town breed, with swanky ones in the foothills. There are a few clubs but they aren't concentrated on much unless everyone decides to go. Greek life puts everyone to shame when it comes to partying. UA is definitely a party school, even celebrating Cinco De Mayo during Finals week.

Greek Life at University of Arizona

A+

Woo

There's a huge difference between the people who are a part of Greek Life and who aren't at UA, because it's a huge school. It might be difficult for people to feel included or meet as many friends as they'd like to, but greeklife connects so many people. Frats are where the parties are, and some of the themed ones get crazy.

The best part about greeklife at UA is that everyone is connected though. There are no rivalries and it's perfectly normal to see a group of girls from 4 different houses walking down the street and laughing with each other. There's a sense of camaraderie, but greeks and non-greeks can be friends too.
