Great.
We're so spoiled here with dining. We complain that the food is repetitive or bland, but compared to other schools we really have amazing food! Also it's "all-you-care-to-eat" style, which is great since you don't have to pay for individual items. I love BU's food and dining services!

You're in the Heart of Boston
If you're over 21 you're right in the heart of Boston and there's so much to do! If you're under 21, you can't drink or go to clubs (they're strict with checking ids) but you can go to a hookah bar, a concert (at the House of Blues or Paradise Rock Club), a frat party, shop (the Pru and Newbury St) or you can watch a movie at a theater. There's lots to do. Transportation to and from places is easy- you can walk, take the T or a cab.

It exists
You'll see people walking around wearing their letters on hoodies or tote bags, but other than that Greek Life really isn't too prominent. Frats have parties every weekend and sometimes the Greek Life will host events for charities and fundraising.

THC + alcohol.
BU is mostly weed and alcohol, but if you like harder drugs you'll have to do a bit of scavenger-hunting. Other drugs aren't prominent AT ALL, but do exist if you're willing to do the search.

Great
The school buildings are really nice. The FITREC and Agganis Arena are both absolutely gorgeous. The GSU is really nice and so is Mugar Library. Really, everything is nice. The dorms could use a little work, but that's another story.

Hockey
Hockey is basically the only big sport that people watch and attend games. People REALLY enjoy the games though. Most people are drunk, screaming, cheering and it's a lot of fun. If you're looking for a big sports school, BU isn't for you.

City Schools are strict.
Being a city school BU has to be strict. Security is very strict, but we don't want random homeless people wandering our halls do we? But, sometimes they're overly strict, like sending people to the hospital for being caught tipsy... Campus strictness can definitely loosen up a bit, but it's nothing to get too stressed about.

Rate BU
Check out Rate BU if you want to see the hottest girls and guys. But mostly BU is 1/2 gay guys and the other half of the guys are either 1. taken 2. single and messing around or 3. single for a reason. But the girls here are all really pretty, nice and dress fashionably.

Things are pretty close so you can pretty much walk anywhere, but there's also taxis (which are sometimes too expensive) and the T. The T stops running at 12:30 am I think and it's $2/ride unless you have a Charlie card which is $1.70/ride. If there's a lot of people (like on weekend nights) you can hop on the T unnoticed and don't have to pay.

So diverse.
There's so many international students from everywhere - Asia, Mexico, England, Brazil, India, etc. You can walk around and here different languages or accents, it's cool and interesting. Most international students tend to stick together though. BU is also diverse in terms of types of people. You can't really say BU is a preppy school or a hipster school ... there's ALL types of people.

Love it
I absolutely love BU in every way possible, but definitely visit before committing because it's not the perfect school for everyone. A lot of people have trouble finding a group of friends because there is such a large population of students and it can be tough to find your nice. If I could go back in time, I would still choose to attend BU.
