Workload
Stepping into college is different from high school. Procrastination is a big problem. There's no time fooling around. However when you are stuck or don't understand something, the professors or the teacher's assistants are always available to help out. If you are shy, there's office hours for students to get one on one help. The workload for each class depends on the class you take and the professor that teaches the class. But lesson learned is do not procrastinate.

Always Open
Gainesville is a small place. But there's plenty of stores and restaurants nearby. One of the best part in Gainesville is that if you are ever hungry, there's always a place open. For instance, Tropical Smoothie is 24 hours and has great smoothies and food. Also there is 420 Menchies where it opens at 4:20pm, but closes at 4:20 am. In addition, the mall is small but its a good place to shop. The local people there are really nice and treat you like if you were at home. Overall, there's always a place to hang and eat at any time of the day.

Keep an Eye Out
University of Florida is strict when you get caught doing drugs. If you live in a dorm and plan to drink in your dorm, best advice is to never leave the drinks in your dorm and don't advertise it to everyone. If there's an emergency and it requires you to get out of the dorm, then you will be busted. Just be careful and always drink with your friends (those that will take care of you and keep an eye out).
