Party Houses
I'm a freshman so I don't know much about off campus housing. What I hear though, is that if you live in an off campus house that its generally expected to be a party house. Some houses have worse reputations than others, but it seems to be the general stigma with off campus living.

Reasonable
The majority is definitely upper middle class white kids. There are a number of ethnic students, students of different religions, and gay and transgendered students as well. The school really tries to keep things diverse, but sometimes it gets to the point where it seems like they are singling out the minorities because they are trying so celebrate diversity too much!

A Really Solid Liberal Arts School.
Skidmore is the quintessential small liberal arts college. They have a great art department, the kids are all very interesting, and the campus is lovely. The academic life seems reasonable, if you're willing to work a bit for it. The party life on campus leaves a bit to be desired; as a freshman I find myself hanging out in small groups rather than going to parties.
