The Tyranny of Choice
The one downside to LC is that all the departments are so enticing to the average Liberal Arts student that choosing a major can be painfully difficult. And as much as you are encouraged to shop around, the pressure is ALWAYS on to pick a major. Then the problem arises when you pick one major but you decide you want to double major. Then you make the mistake of assuming that because you love it, Music (or Art) will be an awesome second major, because its obviously not work if you love it so much. Wrong. As much as you love a subject, majoring it is a commitment, especially if you are already a Biology major, you have just added countless hours on top of your already full courseload. Besides that though, academics are amazing. Most professors are totally passionate and opportunities for research and internships are there for the taking if you are even the slightest bit proactive

Labs Are Consistently Free
The labs are more often than not totally accessible. The computers are fast and there are both Macs and PCs available. Most students also have laptops and the labs are usually used for group projects and are mostly crowded during finals. Printing can be pretty hectic (especially just before the major class periods) and some people choose to print 300 page pdf files which take forever, but if you are on the ball you will have no problem printing. The IT department has recently added wireless printing as well, allowing you to print to a lab printer from your own laptop which alleviates some of the backup at rush hours.

Stay Cool and You Will Be Fine
The school does not have huge parties on campus, mostly kids drinking in their rooms and usually they can get away with it as long as they are not stupid. Betray people's trust and you will get written up, but stay below the radar and you will be fine. The same goes for smoking. But don't smoke in your room, that is dumb. If kids are caught, first offenses usually result in few repercussions. The school treats you as an adult and unless you are found committing criminal offenses (intention to sell etc.) parents don't get notified. The worst I have seen is expulsion but that was a rare occasion and the average kid will just get written up and perhaps write some sort of apology. That being said, some housing complexes are stricter than others (specifically the Health and Wellness hall)
