Campus Strictness at Willamette University

A-

Pretty Chill

If you aren't being stupid and openly drinking in front of an RA then you will be fine, even if you are underage. The campus is a wet campus so those who are over 21 can drink freely in the dorms and even minors can drink without too much fear of being caught. If you are caught, not very much will happen. You just get a slap on the wrist from the student judicial board and get told not to do it again basically. Repeat offenders incur more severe punishments but it rarely happens. The worst you'll get is some community service. They are a bit more strict about drug use, including marijuana, but if you aren't stupid about it, you're unlikely to get caught. Drinking in your room before going out to parties is popular because if you get busted drinking off campus the punishments are considerably worse since you have to deal with Salem PD. Overall, campus is pretty chill about this kinda stuff and if you are being obvious or stupid, you won't get in trouble.

Weather at Willamette University

B

Acceptable Weather

Campus is small so weather doesn't really play a big role in anything, unless you plan on playing a sport. It rains a considerable amount, but what do you expect? its the pacific northwest. Less rain than Seattle though if that helps any? many more days of sunshine too. But not too bad.

Facilities at Willamette University

B+

Athletic Space Is Limited

Oftentimes sports teams will have to share the indoor workout space (especially in the winter) or 40+ people on a team will have to cram into a multipurpose room just to workout. The gyms are pretty nice, nothing fancy, and the weight room has everything you need to do pretty much any workout you might want, but sometimes when its crowded, you have to wait quite a while to get on a certain machine or squat rack or something. Varsity athletes do get priority at certain times though. The dorms on the other hand are fairly nice compared to other campuses. Most of them are just regular dorms but some have just been renovated and Kaneko Commons is one of the nicest dorms I've ever seen. It's literally almost like a hotel its so nice. Overall the facilities at Willamette are pretty good.

Athletics at Willamette University

B-

Not Great, Just Good

Willamette is a very small private school and athletics are not at the top of its list most of the time. The facilities are usually there for all of the varsity teams, but practice space is limited sometimes and teams have to share the space on occasion. Don't get me wrong though, varsity sports here are pretty good for a DIII. But you don't need to play one to get active on campus. IM sports are pretty big on campus and those who don't play a varsity sport very most likely get involved in an IM sport (if they have time).
