Safety First?
Marquette's campus safety leaves a lot to be desired. There was a string of 8 consecutive days with robberies last semester, most of which were armed. The DPS officers seem to be very present during the day and on weekends, but not as much on weekends or later in the evening when they are most needed. Students should be smarter about when and where they go, but armed robberies outside a dorm in the middle of the day should also not take place on a campus, period.

Sports Big at MU
As a student-athlete, I know first hand how much MU puts into athletics. While some athletic teams receive a little more preferential treatment than others, for the most part, athletes are given what they need to succeed at the collegiate level both in the classroom and in their competitions. Students at MU are very supportive of athletics and seem to really come together around the Golden Eagles, especially the men's basketball team. While having a Div. 1 football team would be a nice thing to experience in addition to the other sports, I feel Marquette has a lot to offer both its athletes and its fans.

My Major at MU
I am studying Political Science with a Pre-Law focus at MU, in addition to working towards minors in Spanish language and History. I enjoy my major classes a lot and find my professors to be accomplished, interesting and stimulating. I feel I can learn a lot from them in my personal quest to become a lawyer and possibly a politician. I think a Bachelor's degree from MU will set me up nicely for the future.
