From what I've seen it's practically nonexistent .

It may be a small town school but the student life is fantastic.

The faculty and staff really care about the students.

The sports are great. The school has really good athletes.

They try to understand and not be to overwhelming. They focus more on preventing drug and alcohol abuse over punishing users.

There are the expensive co-ed dorms that don't have allot of problems. The two dorms that are just girls and just guys have a few problems being older buildings like a transformer blew out the other night and we lost power.

Guys & Girls:
There are allot of athletes that go through the school, and majority of the other students are local. They are all very friendly and the only troubles seem to be parting after seasons are over.

The drug scene at VCSU isn't that big. If you hang out with people who do it, there is an abundance of it, drinking seems to be the go-to.

This school will prepare you for graduate school, and they have majors in music and technical stuff (I'm not technical, so I'm not sure of the specific majors there).

Because this school is not just face-to-face, but online oriented, they do their best to upkeep the computers they rent out. They also have an IT group that answers any questions there may be about technical difficulties.

Valley City State University has an ethical code and statement that includes minorities and special needs students. Each teacher follows these guidelines and treats each student with equal respect.

I think the computers at Valley City State University are fine.

My school (Valley City State University) provides online degrees, even in music!!!!

Professors Know Thier Stuff! I was thankful to be learning from experienced men and women about musical skills that they themselves had mastered and enjoyed. Each professor had a unique personality and was understanding of special situations. Additionally, they are constantly improving according to the student surveys turned in at the end of each semester. The teachers here are extremely intelligent!

I Love Being a Music Major! There are so many classes to choose from! Once I finally made my decision, I enrolled without too much trouble and the online experience was amazing. Each class teaches valueable skills for staying on top of work and giving your best through homework. The professors are obviously experienced in the topics they teach, and they apparently enjoy teaching them. The workload is probably a bit harder than most schools, because they prepare you for either a job, or breezing through grad school.

Question Not Applicable – Since I am an online student, the only part of the campus I can see is the inside of the classrooms via a webcam, and the outside from videos or pictures on the website. In conclusion, I honestly don't know what it's like to live there.

Helpful Online Classes – As an online student, it is important to have a professor who communicates promptly. In most surcumstances, I recieved answers to my emails by the next business/school day. Consistantly, I learned many new skills and was encouraged to do my best. Overall, I think this is a great place for a music major, because the classes and programs available not only are numerous, but hard core and really prepare you for the business world.

I think the athletics at my school are great. We have a great fan base that come out and support every game. Most of the other teams come out and support the team that is in season. Everyone loves to attend the sporting events on campus.

The facilities here at Valley City State university are limited. We have two different gyms. One gym is where the volleyball team plays and has a cardio room and alot of different cable weight lifting machines. The other gym we have is where the basketball teams play. That gym has all of our free weights and is where most of the teams do their weight lifting for in season and off season workouts. Even though we only have two gyms, they work for what people need.

The construction of the new science department interferes with the parking. The campus is not very large and there is plenty of parking surrounding the campus so it doesn't cause too much of a problem, since I commute parking is important.

The Daily E-Mails Say There Is Pleanty to Do – I live off campus 30 miles away so I have not experienced the nightlife firsthand. There are many e-mails announcing the daily night activates.

The Best Campus I Could Have Chosen – The sports teams are awesome. There is an extensive variety of clubs and groups. It is a gorgeous, comfortable campus on the river. The campus is comfortable for everyone and I have yet to witness any form of discrimination.

No Idea – I don't really pay attention. As a non trad student I do my classes online, so I don't know much of the on campus stuff.

No Clue – I am not a partier. I have 2 kids and I'm not into going to the bars or paries.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
