| Advice on Finding a Job/Internship | |
The Career Center staff does its best to be helpful in your career search. However, it often seems like their programs and fairs reach out particularly to nursing, engineering, and business majors, with little help for anyone else. They have also included fairs for Law Schools and Graduate Schools, though, to apply to more students. If you need help creating or proofing your résumé or want to browse lists of internship opportunities, you’ll want to become friends with a career counselor. Take advantage of the Career Center’s reading room. They have books upon books and catalogs full of career advice and opportunities. Also, make sure you do go to the career fairs and do the networking thing, even if you’re not particularly interested in any of the jobs offered—it’s still a great way to make contacts.
